Alan Greenfield

Experience:

Alan has worked in the general insurance industry since 1987 and has consulted since 1989. He has worked for one of Australia's largest general insurers and 3 consulting firms, including several years overseas based in New York and London.

Alan has had experience in most areas of general insurance, including:

• Loss reserving;
• Premium rating for long tail lines;
• Asset/liability modelling and dynamic financial analysis (DFA);
• Statistical case estimation systems;
• Stochastic analysis of liabilities for long tail lines;
• Technical pricing of short tail lines;
• Design and implementation of monthly monitoring systems;
• Insurer capitalisation;
• Mergers and acquisitions.

He is currently a member of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia Energy and Environment Committee and writes a related article for the Institute's monthly magazine.

For the years 1998 to 2000 he was an Examiner (Chief Examiner in 1999) for the Institute of Actuaries of Australia for the General Insurance Specialist subject.
