Kevin Gomes

Experience:

Kevin has worked in general insurance since 1996 and has worked as a consultant since 2002. Kevin is currently the Approved Actuary for a number of Australian insurers and reinsurers, with experience in loss reserving across a wide range of business lines.

In addition, recent consulting projects include:

• Appraisal valuations of an Australian mortgage insurer, an Australian marine insurer and a diversified Taiwanese insurer;
• Estimation of run-off capital requirements for an Australian reinsurer;
• Due diligence on behalf of a major multinational insurer regarding the prospective purchase of a Chinese insurer;
• Developing a financial plan for a start up medical indemnity insurer;
• Strategic product and pricing review for an Australian home insurer.

Prior to working as a consultant, Kevin worked in a variety of corporate roles including:

• Managing sourcing and manufacture of insurance products for ANZ Bank;
• Managing the development of strategic and innovative products for Insurance Manufacturers of Australia;
• Chief Actuary for RACV Insurance.
